Dear Chiefs Council

Please be advised, as per UBCIC Resolution 2009-53, the UNION OF BC INDIAN CHIEFS 42nd Annual General Assembly is scheduled for September 15th to 17th, 2010.

The 42nd Annual General Assembly will be held in Vancouver, BC at the Coast Plaza Hotel and Suites (1763 Comox Street).

In accordance with the UBCIC Constitution and By-laws (2004), Ardith Walkem of Walkem and Associates, has been appointed by the UBCIC Executive as the Chief Electoral Officer for the Election of the President.

UBCIC Constitution and By-laws Section VIII (a) states "the President shall be elected by a closed ballot of all Full and Active Members of the UBCIC in good standing (those who have paid their membership dues for the current year), at an Annual General Assembly." The UBCIC Constitution and By-laws (2004) is online at http://www.ubcic.bc.ca/about/constitution.htm and attached below.

Attached below is a pre-registration form (to be submitted no later than September 13, 2010) and a proxy letter template.

If your community has not done so, please pay membership dues at your most earliest convenience. For your convenience, this year's membership letter is attached below.

The UBCIC office has received a number of requests for the UBCIC Chiefs Council contact list. For the use of the UBCIC Chiefs Council, the UBCIC Chiefs Council contact list was emailed and faxed on August 6, 2010. The list includes bands who have paid dues in the past two years and some contact information may need to be updated. NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL NOR FINAL ELECTORS LIST.
