The Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs is a non-governmental organization that has been granted Special Consultative status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Since its creation, the UBCIC has produced a wide variety of materials to support its operation, advance its position and provide up-to-date information on the activities of the organization as well as report on issues important to UBCIC members.
The UBCIC's Digital Collections consist of a series of digitized multimedia materials. The collections include two databases: Our Homes are Bleeding, which contains materials that focus on the cut-off lands in British Columbia, and the First Nations Digital Document Source, which contains documents supporting land claims research. The collections also include UBCIC History Online, a digital collection of archival materials that documents the history of UBCIC. UBCIC History Online consists of materials that have been digitized from the UBCIC Archives including newsletters, photographs, posters, and moving images.
