UBCIC Policy Analysis Department

Social Development - Child Welfare, Health and Education

The Union of BC Indian Chiefs Policy Analysis Department works primarily in the areas of Child Welfare, Health and Education.

The UBCIC Policy Analysis Department is guided by the three-member Social Development Committee that is appointed by the UBCIC Chiefs’ Council which meets on a quarterly basis. The Social Development Committee is mandated to represent the Union of BC Indian Chiefs specifically in the three identified areas and make regular reports to UBCIC Chiefs’ Council as well as provide strategic direction to the Policy Analysis Department.

As well, the Policy Analysis Department provides technical support to various Provincial Policy tables including the Joint Aboriginal Management Committee and Technical Working Group, Aboriginal Chairs Caucus, BC Aboriginal Health Network and the Aboriginal Political Leadership.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding social development policy issues, you can reach the Policy Analysis Department at policy@ubcic.bc.ca.

Thank you for visiting the UBCIC Policy Analysis Department. Please check back often for updated information.
