You're no longer relying on the Indians Agents and the Minister in Ottawa to
design every move that you make within your life on a daily basis, and that, in
essence, is what the Indian Act does for the people. It takes everything that's
very precious for them. And I firmly believe that if you do for people that they
can best and should do for themselves, you rob them of something very important,
and that, in essence, is what the Indian Act, Indian Affairs and the Federal
Government have done over the last century.
