FINAL NOTICE AND SHUTTLE TIMES

Dear Chiefs Council, sister organizations and friends:

The UBCIC Chiefs Council Meeting is scheduled for February 26^th- February 27^th, 2020. The Chiefs Council will be held at Musqueam Community Centre, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Territory) (6735 Salish Dr, Vancouver, BC V6N 4C6).  We are pleased to inform you the UBCIC will reimburse travel and accommodation costs for the Chief or the Chief's proxy for this Chiefs Council Meeting.  Attached please find a proxy template letter if required. Outgoing UBCIC Women’s Representative Elaine Alec will be hosting a dinner event for Indigenous women in leadership tonight, February 25^th at 5:30pm, at the Westin Wall Centre, Vancouver Airport, to hear from candidates for the new UBCIC Women’s Representative and to dialogue about the role.  A notice is attached.

An updated draft agenda is attached for your review.  Please note that February 26^th is Pink Shirt Day, and we encourage all attending the Chiefs Council meeting to wear a pink shirt to raise awareness about bullying and fostering self-esteem. Please also note that we will be honouring Bob Chamberlin (Galagame’) for his many contributions to UBCIC on February 27^th.
