NOTICE TO BC FIRST NATIONS
ALL CHIEFS MEETING ON CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
OCTOBER 9-10, 2019
Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ilwətaʔɬ/Sel̓ílwitulh(Tsleil-Waututh) Territories – Vancouver, BC
The objective of this meeting is to bring together Chiefs, leaders, and experts to discuss An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Metis children, youth and families, which received Royal Assent on June 21st, 2019 and the implications for First Nations in British Columbia.
The First Nations Leadership Council and the Tripartite Working Group will provide an update on the current landscape in BC, as well as the work that is ongoing regarding child and family wellness. This meeting will also provide an opportunity for Chiefs and Leaders to hear from Nations who have begun this work and are willing to share their learning and expertise in this area.

A travel subsidy will be made available for one Chief and one delegate per First Nation.
