UBCIC CHIEFS COUNCIL MEETING AND ELECTION INFORMATION
FINAL NOTICE

Dear Chiefs Council, sister organizations and friends:
The UBCIC Chiefs Council Meeting is scheduled for June 17th- June 19th, 2019. The Chiefs Council will be held at Musqueam Community Centre, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam Territory) (6735 Salish Dr, Vancouver, BC). We are pleased to inform you the UBCIC will reimburse travel and accommodation costs for the Chief or the Chief's proxy for this Chiefs Council Meeting. Attached please find a proxy template letter if required along with our membership letter.
Robert (Galagame) Chamberlin recently resigned from his position as Vice-President of the UBCIC Chiefs Council (letter attached). As per the UBCIC By-Laws, an election will be held at the Chiefs Council meeting to fill this role for the remainder of the term, until the UBCIC Chiefs Council meeting on February 27-28, 2020. Attached, please find an announcement for the Vice-President vacancy with full details. As per the By-Laws, delegates must be Full Members in good standing to vote. You will be able to pay your membership fees when you register on day one, via cheque or credit card, if you haven’t already. Alternately, you can contact Tracy Point via email ([email protected]) or at 604-684-0231 ext. 247 to pay before 4:30 p.m. today.
We have a small block of rooms remaining at the Westin Wall Centre, Vancouver Airport under the UBCIC block. You can book your room at the Westin with this link. Please book your rooms ASAP.
